Please tell all! We have a group of 4 going up and fishing the south end of Ostabonigue the week of Sept. 12-19. We have never fished the lake or launched a boat there. Would love to see lots of pictures and any hot spots you would be willing to share. I know it is a personal problem, but with 5 weeks to go the excitement and anticipation is killing me. Can't sleep or focus at work.

First, thanks for the information. Last July we stayed in a cabin just below the rapids in Hunters Point and fished south of the cabin. This September the plan is to stay in the same cabin and drive the mile up and around the rapids and launch the boats and fish the south end of Ostabonigue. The pictures on the Zec web site look like a long narrow lane from the camping area down to the river to launch the boats. I assume this is were you launched instead of boating down the entire lake from the north end. Would like to hear if you had any issues launching there. Understand the two coves you mentioned but is the channel you mentioned north of the three large southern most islands or is it on the southwest corner of the "largest" island? I know nothing of Bob's cabin, but always interested. Who knows, might be the next trip.

Thanks again

Thanks Johnny Walleye. Pictures were a big help. I figured it was tight down that path to the water. We have one truck equipped with a ball on the front if we have to "push" the boats down the path. If you turn right after the bridge, that takes you down to the cabin we will be staying in. 4 more weeks of anticipation and last minute preparation. Will post a full report when we get back. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
